If an office halved its waste from two wheelie bins to one each week, it would save more than four
tonnes or 2100 wheelie bins of greenhouse gas emissions. Clean Up Australia is urging businesses in
&gt;&gt;insert name of local area&gt;&gt; to take up the challenge on 26 February as part of Business Clean
Up Day.
&gt;&gt;Insert business name&lt;&lt; has registered and is now urging other businesses to get involved.

“There are many simple and cost-effective actions to minimise the waste from business operations
that will help to reduce Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions and limit the impacts of climate
change,” &gt;&gt;name of spokesperson&gt;&gt; said.
Clean Up Australia Chairman Ian Kiernan AO said “Recycling and reducing office waste that ends
up in landfill are two easy ways to avoid greenhouse emissions, save resources and money”.
Business Clean Up Day gives employers and employees the opportunity to work with their local
communities and help to improve the health of the environment.

environmentally friendly by recycling paper and toner cartridges / printing on double sided paper /
pledging to turn off all electrical equipment at the end of the business day / switching to low
energy lightbulbs&lt;&lt;
For the first time this year, businesses can Adopt a Site, which is an immediate way to support Clean
Up Australia Day and for a business to demonstrate its commitment to the community.
Businesses can also participate by registering their office and committing to implementing at least
one environmentally sustainable initiative in the work place.
